YouTube and Google videos combined with e-mailMonday, December 4, 2006 inclue! today announced a new release of its Media Inbox that is so easy and convenient to use that it could vastly increase media feed traffic from such popular video sharing sites as YouTube and Google Video. The inclue! Media Inbox is one of a few RSS (real simple syndication) readers that can be used with Outlook and Outlook Express, making it as easy for users as reading their e-mail.
The new inclue! Media Inbox, version 1.2, includes features that make getting video and music content even easier. Users can enter a keyword search and get video updates delivered from Google Video, YouTube and other major search sources. “Users primarily want to be entertained or informed,” said Inclue! CEO Nick Gogerty. “They are not video sharing because they necessarily like to operate computers and other devices. Just like when they sit down to watch television, they don’t want to have to run a through a chain of operations to finally get to see what they want. Once you are notified that a video or audio feed is available about a person or subject that interests you, you can watch or listen inside your e-mail.” Another difference is the greater flexibility that inclue! Media Inbox users have for searching for and downloading videos and audios, instead of having to accept the sites’ configurations. “Typically, you have to go to the site’s homepage and do some navigating and exploring before deciding what you want to watch or hear,” Gogerty said. “Users get to define their own channels.” “Say you want to watch videos about your city or neighborhood. Instead of going to, for example, YouTube, and searching, the inclue! Media Inbox will send any materials it finds directly to you,” he said. The downloadable application is free and is seamlessly loaded into Outlook or Outlook Express programs as an add-in to the program. Because of the increased simplicity and flexibility, Gogerty foresees a dramatic increase in the already explosive use of rich media feeds. Pointing to a study by ComScore Media Metrix that the average video user watches about two minutes a day at their favorite video site, Gogerty said he believed that “we could double or triple that, because we have made it a lot friendlier.” He compared the benefits to newspaper deliveries: “It’s a lot more convenient to have your newspaper delivered right to your doorstep, than having to walk over to the corner newsstand everyday to buy your paper.”

Rhode Island-based Amie Street has reinvented the online music business model by allowing prices of songs to fluctuate based on artist popularity and demand. Every song starts free on Amie Street and rises in price the more it is purchased, with a cap at 98 cents. inclue! Media Inbox, a product of California-based inclue!, gives users the desirability of using their Outlook or Outlook Express email programs to avoid the bothersome task of surfing to select and play their videos and music. Instead of relying on a web search as defined by a browser, the user is empowered to define their own parameters, allowing greater control and flexibility. Both recently established firms see their partnership as a natural progression of rapidly advancing and increasingly popular technologies. For example, both Amie Street and Inclue! have built-in social networks that allow users to become friends and recommend music with each other. Nick Gogerty CEO of inclue! was quoted as saying, “we are excited to be a distribution channel for independent publishers and producers. We watch the future of media change daily right in front of us. Lucas has created one of the most interesting RSS feeds we have ever seen.” According to Lucas Hrabovsky, CTO of Amie Street, “True rich media support for feeds has been lacking for too long. inclue! is taking this to the next level. We're really excited about the inclue! and Amie Street partnership because it will bring RSS functionality with rich media support to the masses.” inclue! is a small southern California start-up firm that makes a free RSS reader called the inclue! media inbox that comes preloaded with audio and video content. Inclue! helps publishers and producer grow their audience relationships by delivering content. Launched October 4, 2006, by founders Elliott Breece, Josh Boltuch and Elias Roman, Amie Street is the first online music community designed to discover and promote independent artists. Amie Street helps increase exposure and revenue for new artists through an innovative, demand-driven pricing model based on recommendations by, and rewards for, customers who endorse their favorite music on the site.

Beta welcome Hello and welcome to the inclue! beta program. Beta software is a first attempt at a working system, and by its very nature it is partial and has bugs. However, we can't fix them until we know what they are. Thus we would like your feedback about technical problems you may have and on how inclue! meets your needs in getting information in a fun and useful way. So please tell us how you use inclue! and what kind of successes or disappointments are you having. We would also like to know what kind of added features you would you suggest. You may find yourself using other programs and websites in conjunction with inclue! (for example timeline, cnn, nytimes or craigslist) Please let us know that too, especially if you think other people might benefit from the information. In giving feedback on our forum, tell us if you would recommend this product to a friend or not and why. Please be honest as we are working hard to make inclue! better. Feel free to say whatever you think in whatever format you wish. It would be very helpful if you could include how long you have used the beta software, how many (and what sort of) people were involved in your test, and what level of computer expertise you/they have on a 1-5 scale (5 being high). Lastly, if you know someone who could benefit from using inclue!, and could give us valuable feedback, please forward this link to them: www.inclue.com IMPORTANT: Please make every reasonable effort to keep the beta from public view. At this time we are not ready for journalists writing about the beta, since it is a very crude approximation of the final inclue! vision. Our goal is for inclue! to be free, easy and fun. Above all enjoy the software! The inclue! development team |
